Oats, considering their health benefits, are a great substitute to a lot of Indian grains and cereals in the Indian diet. Oats are rich in fibre and in nutrients like manganese, copper, biotin, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc, etc. Plus they help lower cholesterol, keep you fuller for longer, and are a good source of anti-oxidants.
I always prefer Disano Oats because it is made of whole grain oats and helps in weight management.
Here is the quick fix recipe which can be made in 15 minutes and it is the most favourite one in my family.
Oats Kheer
Ingredients:
1 Cup Oats (Disano Oats)
1/2 Litre Milk
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Chopped Dry fruits
3 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp kewda/kewda
Chopped Fruits
Method:
1. Roast disano oats well in a pan.
2. In another pan, heat milk and add sugar.
3. Once the milk is warm, add the oats mixture to it and keep stirring.
4. Once the mixture thickens, add cardamom powder and kewda or rose water to the mix. Stir well.
5. You can add fruits like banana and mango to the kheer to add more taste. In winter season, I add only bananas.
6. Sprinke your favourite chopped dry fruits like almonds, cashew, dates, pistachios and raisins before serving.
Tip: Replace sugar with honey or jaggery to make your kheer more healthy. I prefer jaggery in winters.

I use Disano Extra Virgin Olive Oil in simple Indian recipes too because of its health benefits. This is one of the simple recipes that I prepare for my kiddo's lunch box.

One pot Vegetable Rice
.
Ingredients-
3 tsp Disano extra virgin Olive Oil 1 small bay leaf
1/2 inch cinnamon
1 pod green cardamom
1 onion, medium sized, finely chopped
1 green chilli, slit
4 beans, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
2 tbsp peas
1/2 capsicum, small sized
1 cup basmati rice, soaked 30 minutes
2 cup water Salt to taste
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

Instructions-
1. In a large wok, heat 3 tsp oil and saute bay leaf, cinnamon, and cardamom.
2. Add onion, chilli and saute until they turn translucent.
3. Now add all the veggies and stir fry.
4. Add basmati rice and roast for 2 minutes.
5. Further add water, salt and lemon juice.
6. Mix well, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
7. Turn off the flame and rest for 10 minutes.
8. Finally, add 2 tbsp coriander leaves.
